Welcome to NM-AGEP Welcome to the Web site for NM-AGEP (New Mexico Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate). NM-AGEP is one of about 20 programs nationwide that are funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and are aimed at increasing the number of minority PhDs (and those who join the professoriate) in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This Web site is the central point information about NM-AGEP including the three alliance universities (NMSU, NMT, and UNM). The primary users of this site are science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) faculty at the alliance universities, prospective and current NM-AGEP fellows, faculty advisors, and staff and administration.
Universities You will find information about each of the three alliance universities in this section of the Web site. In addition, there are links to the AGEP sites at each of the universities. In addition to the three alliance universities, New Mexico Highlands University, Eastern New Mexico University and Northern Arizona University are partner institutions. NM-AGEP-eligible Master’s students at partner institutions may apply for supplementary stipends. Other partner institution benefits include: professional development workshops are telecast from alliance universities whenever possible; NM-AGEP staff provide workshops for STEM undergraduates and MS students on pursuing the Ph.D.; funding is provided for faculty advisors to attend the annual NM-AGEP conference. Events NM-AGEP organizes and co-sponsors range of professional development workshops and it hosts an Annual Conference. NM-AGEP maintains a calendar that lists a range of local, regional and national events of interest to NM-AGEP students and faculty. The calendar is maintained by Dr. David Johnson at NMT. Reports Recent and archived editions of the NM-AGEP newsletter and Annual Report Summaries are available in this section of the website. Resources Visit this section of the website for additional resources such as fellowship opportunities, web resources, the NM-AGEP video library, and a listing of affiliated programs.
