After spending the last 6 hours working through this shameful book, I decided to see if others shared the same frustration. I was not surprised to see that everyone is trashing this prep aid. Does Princeton Review have no shame? This is absolutely unprofessional and borderline unethical. Of course they didn’t break any laws by putting out such a poor product, but my goodness, anyone with a conscience would have spent more time editing their work.

I am very disappointed. I wasted money and a very important day of studying. If you like to waste time and money, you found the perfect book to help you reach those goals. If you want to help yourself do poorer on the GRE, you do not have to look any further. If you want to underachieve and go to a school you are over qualified for, then put this book in your cart. Good luck!

The editors fail. There are so many mistakes in the answers, the key says D but the explanation says C, etc, that it’s not worth studying from. Buy something that isn’t full of fail.

Like others have said, there are many errors in this book. Even though the Princeton Review gives a correction sheet for the errors, there are still many that they have missed. There are also errors on the correction sheet itself. It is nice that each question has an explanation but, they are not very thorough. It seems obvious that this book was very rushed and not made with any attention to detail. While some answer explanations have lengthy answers, others are short-winded and give you nothing to work with and leave you with the feeling that they only gave you an “explanation” because they had to fill the space. Don’t attempt to contact the Princeton Review either. They will not return your calls or e-mails. They have horrible customer service.

See, my son knows the difference between “A” and “E.” That is, if the “Answer” key says the correct answer for Question #2 is A, the “Explanations” section should not “explain” why the answer to Question #2 should be E. Mistakes are rife throughout the Math section, and in disgust I turned to the Verbal drills, only to be oddly satisfied to find only 3 errors in the first section of drills. (Note to Princeton Review: If the word “ambivalent” isn’t an option among the possible answers, you probably shouldn’t list it as the CORRECT answer.)

The editors/creators hiding behind the illustrious “Princeton Review” name appear to be more interested in making a buck than preparing students for the GRE. With the way they pepper the phrase “For more practice and a more in-depth look … check out our student-friendly guidebook, Cracking the GRE” throughout every section of this book, I think I just paid $19 for a 5-pound promotional pamphlet for “Cracking the GRE.”
