These are programs closely associated with NM-AGEP.

ADVANCE at NMSU: Sponsored by NSF, NMSU was one of 9 universities to secure funding in 2001 with the goal of increasing the number of women in tenure-track faculty positions in STEM disciplines.

COWPRA: Consortium of Western and Puerto Rico AGEPs: The consortium brings together the Alliances for Graduate Education and the Professoriate in Arizona, California, Colorado, Puerto Rico, Texas, and New Mexico, all of which are funded by the National Science Foundation and provide programs intended to increase the number of minority PhDs in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and pursue careers as university professors.

Minority Biomedical Research Support (MBRS): The NIGMS grants awards to 2- and 4-year institutions to increase the number of researchers who are members of underrepresented ethnic minority groups.

New Mexico Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation: The New Mexico LSAMP program is sponsored by NSF and designed to increase the number of minority students who successfully complete degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. The long-term goal is to increase the number of these students with Ph.D.s and ultimately entering tenure-track faculty positions.

²RASEM: RASEM² (RASEM Squared) is a program sponsored by NSF that aims to provide support and encouragement so that students with disabilities can overcome the educational barriers they face in considering science, engineering, math and technology careers.

Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program: The McNair program is one of the federal TRIO programs funded by the US Department of Education. McNair participants are from disadvantaged backgrounds and have demonstrated strong academic potential. Participants are prepared for doctoral studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities.
